Metric hardware is everywhere on a modern kart — engine mounts, brackets, covers, seat and pedal hardware — and it is usually plain steel that rusts the first time the kart gets washed. Grade titanium holds clamp load like the steel screw it replaces while cutting the weight of each fastener by roughly 40%, and it will not corrode in the pits or in storage.
