Grade 5 titanium low-profile axle key stock made for thin-wall rear go kart axles and many mini bike axles. The 3/16 inch key height clears shallow keyways where a full 1/4 x 1/4 square key will not seat, which makes it the right key for outlaw kart, jr sprint and mini bike rear ends running lightweight thin-wall axles. Supplied as a six inch bar you cut to length.
Everything bolted to the rear axle is rotating weight, and rotating weight costs you off the corner more than static weight does. Swapping steel keys for Grade 5 titanium takes mass out at the axle centerline while keeping the shear strength you need to drive hubs and sprocket carriers hard. Titanium also shrugs off the corrosion that seizes a steel key into an aluminum hub after a season of wet nights.
