Light and strong. A grade 5 titanium 1/4-28 non-serrated lug nut with the standard 1/2 in head, most commonly run on go karts and quarter midgets but at home on any hub already turning 1/4-28 wheel studs.
This is the direct swap for the steel 1/2 in head nut, same wrench, same torque spec, roughly 40 percent less weight. At 4.8 g each the savings land on the outer edge of the rotating assembly, so the engine spends less of itself spinning the wheels back up every time you get out of a corner.
Grade 5 titanium brings the strength to survive the shock loading a lug nut sees, plus natural corrosion resistance, so the nut backs off cleanly at the end of the year instead of galling onto a rusty stud.
