Replacement snap ring for the end of a 1.25 inch rear axle. It seats in the groove machined at the axle end and acts as a mechanical stop for the rear hub, so a hub that backs off during a race cannot walk its way off the axle. Standard fitment for outlaw kart, jr sprint and go kart rear ends running a 1.25 inch live axle.
This is cheap insurance on the most expensive failure in the rear end. Hub bolts and set screws work loose from vibration and hard cushion hits, and without a retaining ring the first thing you know about it is a wheel leaving the kart. A snap ring turns that into a rattle you can hear and fix in the pits instead of a wrecked axle, hub and corner.
Two snap rings are included with every one of our titanium axles — these are sold individually as spares or replacements. Requires a 1.25 inch axle with a machined snap ring groove; a pair of snap ring pliers makes installation much easier. This is a retaining ring only, not a bearing or bearing race.
