The 5/16-24 x 1.25 titanium wheel stud, now with a flush head like the 1/4-28 studs. Built for quarter midgets, outlaw karts and oval karts running a 5/16 stud, it gives you the clean pressed-in look at the back of the hub without any of the trouble a real pressed-in stud brings.
Pressed studs spin in the hub, back out and wallow their bore once heat and side load get into them. A threaded flush head stud sits just as low but stays put, and a broken one comes out with an allen key in the trailer instead of a press on the bench.
Titanium is where the weight goes. At 7.2 g this stud is nearly 2 g lighter than the previous version and far lighter than steel, and it is unrolling that mass from the outer edge of the wheel where rotating weight costs the most. Titanium also shrugs off corrosion, so the stud will not seize into the hub over a season.
