A lightweight flanged, non-serrated lug nut in grade 5 titanium, sized for 5/16-24 wheel studs. It is a straight upgrade for go karts, quarter midgets and junior sprints already running a 5/16-24 stud.
Grade 5 is the aerospace titanium alloy, and it is what lets this nut hold up to the shock loading, heat and side bite a race wheel puts through a lug nut while carrying roughly half the mass of the steel equivalent. Every gram saved here comes off the rotating weight at the outermost part of the wheel, which is the most expensive weight on the car to accelerate.
Titanium also does not rust, so the nut does not seize onto the stud over a season of wash downs and wet nights, and a stuck lug nut never costs you a heat race.
