Product Details

Grade 5 6AL-4V titanium 1/4-28 rocker arm set screw, machined as a direct replacement for the steel OEM set screw in the Animal rocker arm. It is the adjuster screw you turn to set valve lash, so it goes into any Animal-powered outlaw kart, jr sprint, quarter midget or go kart running the stock rocker arm and jam nut setup.

Valvetrain parts are the fastest-moving mass in the engine, and every gram in the rocker arm has to be started and stopped twice per revolution. Taking weight out of the adjuster helps the valvetrain stay stable at high rpm, which is where a floating valve costs you a race. Grade 5 titanium gives you the thread strength and heat resistance to hold a lash setting under the temperatures inside a running engine, and it will not gall the rocker arm threads the way a corroded steel screw does.

  • Material: Grade 5 6AL-4V titanium
  • Thread: 1/4-28
  • Length: 0.728 inch
  • Weight: 1 gram
  • Direct replacement for the steel OEM set screw

Sold individually — order the quantity your build needs. Rocker arms and jam nuts are sold separately. Set valve lash to your engine builder's spec and lock the adjuster with a jam nut; check lash after the first heat cycle.
