Product Details

Brake caliper shims for split kart and micro sprint calipers that have no internal fluid bypass. Shims sit behind the pad so you can set the gap between pad and rotor, which makes a big difference in pedal feel on outlaw kart, go kart and micro brake systems. Available in a thin steel version and a thick aluminum version.

The thin .030 inch steel shim works great in combination with our thicker mini lite brake pads in the MCP 1125 Mini Lite or the MCP 650 front caliper. Because you are shimming rather than replacing pads, you can pull shims back out as the pads wear and reset the gap, so a thicker pad gives you more usable pad life for the same money.

The thick 1/16 inch aluminum shim is for calipers that take the big pads with no internal fluid bypass, such as the MCP 181375 and the MCP 1375B.

  • Thin shim: steel, .030 inch thick, for split calipers with no internal fluid bypass
  • Thick shim: aluminum, 1/16 inch thick, for big pad calipers with no internal fluid bypass
  • Mini Lite fitment: MCP 1125 Mini Lite and MCP 650 front caliper
  • Big pad fitment: MCP 181375 and MCP 1375B
  • Typical usage: 4 to 6 shims depending on rotor thickness

Sold individually. We recommend 4 to 6 shims per caliper depending on how thick your rotor is, then removing shims as the pads wear. The thick shim is usually not needed with our big brake pads. Brake pads and calipers are sold separately.
