Full-height 1/4 x 1/4 inch carbon steel axle key stock for go kart and outlaw kart rear axles. This is the standard square keyway size used to lock rear hubs, sprocket carriers and brake hubs to a 1.25 inch live axle, and it is the key most jr sprint, quarter midget and outlaw kart rear ends run. Four 2 inch pieces come in every pack.
Keys take the entire drive and braking load between the axle and everything bolted to it. Once a key starts to round over or twist, the hub creeps, the keyway galls and the axle itself becomes the expensive part to replace. Carbon steel stock is strong enough for hard racing and cheap enough to swap out every time the rear end comes apart.

Note: pieces are cut slightly undersized and will have a loose fit in the keyway. If a key is too loose, secure it with electrical tape, a zip tie, or a retaining compound before you slide the hub on. Cut to length as needed for your hub or sprocket carrier.
