Color Lab - Titanium 1/4-28 Lug Stud External Hex Head

Turn wrenches, turn heads. Color Lab brings race grade titanium hardware in bold, lab tuned anodized hues: ultra light, ultra strong, unmistakably yours. This is the 1/4-28 lug stud with an external hex head, built for quarter midgets, outlaw karts and oval karts.

Titanium is the reason a wheel stud is worth upgrading. It carries the shock loading a lug stud takes at roughly half the density of steel, so you are pulling weight off the very outside of the rotating assembly, and it does not corrode into the hub over a season of wash downs and wet nights.

The external hex head lets you hold the stud with an open wrench from behind the hub while you torque the nut on the front, which is quicker than fighting an internal drive with a wheel in the way. The nose is turned to a rounded bullet shape so the wheel finds the thread on the first try during a hot change.

Sold by the piece. The photos show the flush head version of the stud; this listing is the external hex head. The internal hex flush head stud is available separately, as are matching lug nuts.

Colors, left to right in the first image: Go for Gold, Victory Violate, Royal Blue, Five Three Blue, Chartreuse, Pink Lemonade, Pearl, Oil Slick.

Actual colors may vary slightly. Victory Violate and Royal Blue are close, though in person there is a slight shade difference in direct light. Pink Lemonade appears pink with light touches of yellow on the edges of the threads. The finish on both Pink Lemonade and Pearl may come out matte. Over time the anodizing may wear off the threads or off the head from wrench contact, so take care while installing to get the longest color life.
